Responsibilities involve the coordination and supervision of the various functions and aspects of a specific program or departm! ental project as well as the monitoring of program staff and operational procedures. Work is performed under general supervision with evaluation based on results obtained. May supervise program staff, volunteers and/or students.

Major/Essential Functions

• Provide comprehensive photographic coverage for a variety of university activities, programs and events for the specific purpose of communicating and marketing Texas Tech University in print and electronic formats for Communications & Marketing and the Office of the President
• Digital imaging skills: use of digital camera, digital processing with Photoshop, Adobe Lightroom, Bridge or Aperture; or a similar program, digital printing and outputting images for printing, web sites and publication
• A solid technical knowledge of lighting and digital SLR photography
• Be able to juggle multiple projects, proactively solve problems, deliver against tight deadlines in a fast-paced e! nvironment
• Schedule and coordinate in-studio and on-l! ocation photo shoots to complete assignments
• Plan and coordinate with writers, editors and others in Communications & Marketing to identify appropriate concepts, people and locations for photos assigned
• Maintain extensive and current library of quality photographic images representing all aspects of life on TTU campus. Archive the images in the digital repository to make them easily retrievable
• Handle and maintain all photo equipment and arrange for repair as needed
• Ability to follow direction with a positive attitude
• Frequent travel outside of the office to various campus locations, community events or other sites. Evening and weekend hours required for special events and to meet project deadlines
• Excellent communication skills for working with university personnel with diverse backgrounds

Occasional Duties

Qualifications

Bachelors degree plus two (2) years related experience; OR a combinati! on of education and/or related experience to equal six (6) years.

This is a Security Sensitive Level I Position: Applicants for this position will be subject to a criminal background check and may be required to be fingerprinted.

Preferred Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree in photography, art or related field with a minimum of two years experience with news-related or marketing-related photography.
