Description: Texas Tech University is hiring Unit Coordinator right now, this vacancy will be dwelled in Texas. May supervise subordinate staff, student employees and/or volunteers.

Major/Essential Functions

• The chief purpose/objective of this position is to manage and supervise the day to day running of the digital lab, and to assist and support the proposal and completion of digital projects
• Follows TTU OP, Library and Digital Resources Library Unit policies and procedures
• Plans and completes tasks in an effective and quality manner
• Student Assistant Supervision: Supervising student assistants doing digitization work
• Holds students accountable to library policy, evaluates student work, and provides adequate training for the position
• Equipment Maintenance: Maintaining and fixing specialized digitization equipment
• Create documentation: Create documentation that provides accurate context and enables knowledge sharing and allows someone else to minimally perform the duties documented
• Provide regular and effective communication and reports to the supervisor: Provide reports on status of work and completion ! of tasks regularly as assigned by supervisor
• Assessme! nt: Assess the Digital Lab and student assistants in effectiveness, efficiency, quality and production
• Record statistics and evaluate the effectiveness of workflow, student assistants and of projects
• Resource management: Equipment evaluation and purchasing
• Research and purchase equipment that will meet the needs of the lab to complete digital projects
• Workflow Management: Designing and adjusting workflow to meet library and lab goals
• Develops and maintains workflows for different kinds of projects
• Managing Night Supervisor: Manages the night supervisor position
• Trains the night supervisor on established Digital Lab policies and procedures

Occasional Duties

• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related field plus one (1) year related experience; OR a combination of related education and/or experience to equal five (5) years.

T! his is a Security Sensitive Level I Position: Applicants for this position will be subject to a criminal background check and may be required to be fingerprinted.

Preferred Qualifications

• Basic computer skills and understanding of how computers work
• Basic understanding of photography
• Basic understanding of digital images and digital imaging
• Student management
• Workflow management
• Project planning
• Basic understanding of Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Bridge
• Demonstrates effective written and oral communication skills
