Related to this position, Bayer offers the opportunity to:
- Manage the Function of Reliability & Integrity and Facility Management for all sites of BCS-Seed†s cotton, rice, wheat and soy operations, research and development in North America including Puerto Rico; ensuring that the Function is organized in an effective manner and works as a team. Lead by example and direct the teams and their members.
- Provide leadership, strategic direction, cost, and customer focus for the Function.
- Setting and managing the respective strategies and objectives, whilst ensuring full compliance with appropriate regulatory requirements. Control the Function's performance.
- Realize the BCS Policies and Guidelines at the Sites as far as they contain cross-functional matters. Coordinating and assuring uniformity in technical standards and technical operations on the sites.
- Provide the functions on the Sites with t! he planning and execution of their investment projects.
- Establ! ish efficient and transparent maintenance management including reliability & integrity
- Actively drive process improvement and operational excellence at the sites and ensure appropriate technical training for all employees
- Identify, evaluate, and implement synergy and know-how transfer across the functions at the Sites.

Required Qualifications:
- A ! chartered engineer with a degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering (MSc), or another appropriate scientific discipline or comparable advanced education
- Related Experience: At least 5 years of combined experience in Engineering and/or Maintenance in the Seeds business or the Chemical/Pharmaceutical industry; knowledge in site service practices and standards; a proven track record of working in a similar role.
- Core Competencies: Business drive and leadership are indispensable.
- Personal attributes are creative problem-solver, positive can-do attitude, personally mature, organizationally sensitive, intellectually capable, persuasive and assertive. Creates opportunities and overcomes obstacles through own initiatives.
- Strong conceptual, communication and analytical skills and substantial experience of addressing matters of substance are required.
- Ability to interface with all levels of Seeds from m anagement to hourly employees. A! bility to work on numerous projects at the same time.
- Ability ! to lead external negotiations.
- Fluent in English and, ideally, Spanish.
