In this position you will:
Assist Service Technicians perform prescribed, routine maintenance procedures on supermarket refrigeration systems and self-contained temperature controlled merchandisers.
Duties, skills, and knowledge may include but are not limited to:
Brazing- Can braze any metal or dissimila! r metals (copper to: brass or aluminum.)
Walk-in, case! s setup and trim- Able to recognize structural deficiencies that could cause roof soffit sagging problems.
Pipe Hangers- Able to recognize deficiencies and properly repair them.
Piping and Installation Techniques- Is proficient at line sizing on small and large projects.
Evaporators- Knows the proper way to pipe a coil for hot gas or Koolgas defrost.
TXVs- Understands how varying loads affect TXV operation.
Drains- Superior decision making ability and diagnostic skills of evaporator drain and case drain problems.
Power Washing- Able to teach properly all aspects of power washing.
Leak Checks- Knows how to properly leak check water-cooled condensers (shut off water and raise head pressure.)
Refrigerants, Oils and System Conversions- Know when to do conversions and proper way to do them.
Evacuations- Knows how to completely dry out a system with a moisture problem.
Electrical / Wiring- Able to troubleshoot any electrical problem, offer ! solutions, and implement them.
Single Condensing Units- Able to check and test all defrost components on low temperature application.
Self-Contained Equipment- Proper valve and control settings.
Water Heat Reclaim- Able to recognize circulation pump problems, improper water flow problems, etc.
Air Heat Reclaim- Can determine if there is too much pressure drop through coil and how to correct it.
HVAC and its impact on Refrigeration Systems- Knows how to repair complex HVAC problems as they relate to the refrigeration system.
Compressors- Can diagnose a misapplied compressor body and begin to recognize reasons for failure and/or possible system engineering problems.
Roof Top Condensers- Has an understanding of how to read legend sheets to properly verify and size condensers.
Walk-In: Temperature Control Criteria, Full knowledge of defrost types and where to use each type under what conditions.
Cases: Temperature Control Criter! ia, Understand the importance of using factory-specified TD design crit! eria when diagnosing case problems.
Multiplex Refrigeration Racks- Fully understands the impact of proper and improper rack control settings. Electronic Controllers, Understands how the controller controls each component by input data.
Glass Door and Lighting- Able to troubleshoot any door lighting problem.
Ice Machines- Able to troubleshoot water and refrigeration problems on all brands.
Warranty and Work Authorization- Able to help others technicians understand all aspects of warranty procedures and documentation.
Professional and Business Development- Capable of supervising work projects with small groups of employees.
Demonstrate an understanding and adherence to all work safety policies and procedures including OSHA and any local authorities governing requirements.
Demonstrate knowledge of safety by successfully completing the CERTI-TECH safety test within the first 90 days of employment.
Complete necessary documents (work tickets and ti! mesheets) and electronic communication in a thorough, accurate and timely manner. Demonstrate ability to utilize a hand-held computer to complete necessary customer paperwork and invoicing requirements.
Maintain and manage truck inventory in an accurate, neat and orderly manner as well as adhere to vehicle maintenance program guidelines (If applicable).
Develop and maintain excellent customer relations.
Follow branch policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED required. EPA Certification. HVAC/R with minimum 1-year commercial experience. Valid Driver's license and a safe driving record. Physically able to climb ladders, work at high elevations and lift objects up to fifty pounds. Excellent verbal and written communications skills, detail oriented and highly motivated. Mechanical aptitude. Ability to work nights and/or weekends as required. EPA 608 Universal Certification.
