Essential Functions:
Operate backhoes, rollers, front-end loaders, street sweepers, mowers, hydrau! lic pumps, jackhammers, and other equipment of comparable size and complexity;
Maintain and repair heavy equipment, including hydraulic controls, belts, drive shafts, pumps, and motors;
Drive dump trucks, crew trucks, and spreader trucks;
Operate mechanical attachments and equipment on vehicles;
Operate pickups and other light equipment when assigned;
Perform related duties as directed.
Qualifications:
Completion of a high school diploma or the equivalent with an additional three to five years experience in the operation and repair of motorized construction equipment; or any combination of relevant education and experience which provides the following:
Physical Exam Required Valid Current Commercial Driver’s License
Knowledge and Abilities:
Knowledge of:
Operation, maintenance, and repair of heavy motorized equipment typically used in construction or maintenance activities. Ability to:
Perform r! epair and maintenance on trucks and heavy equipment, including; hydraulic controls, pumps, motors, driveshafts, and other mechanical systems;
Understand and follow oral and written instructions. Physical Requirements
Frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds
Occasionally lift and carry up to 75 pounds
Walk and stand during shift
Climb ladders, scaffolding stairs, poles and inclined surfaces
Continuously push and pull objects
Frequently flex upper trunk forward at the waist and partially at the knees
Frequently rotate upper trunk the right or left while sitting or standing
Reach above, at or below shoulder height
Coordinate eye, hand and foot movement in order to operate motorized vehicles an machinery
