Manage the integrity of all equipment inventories by maintaining 95% (or better) accuracy levels on all audits by locat! ion including cell sites, switches, spares, technician vehicles, on-call kits, etc. Perform audits for the switches, switch spares, etc. Perform scanning of equipment tracked for inventory. Process inventory transfers, adjustments and purchase order receipts for all switch equipment activity. . Research and reconcile inventory activity to provide accurate inventory records.
Unload trucks, compare equipment received against packing slips and purchase orders, noting discrepancies and reporting through escalation channels as defined. Inspect equipment for damage/defects. Tag and label equipment as directed. Receive incoming and process outbound equipment and supply shipments following VZW processes and procedures â€" meeting Sarbanes Oxley requirements for all transactions.
Create, monitor and close return material authorizations for switch and switch spares equipment returned to vendor for repair. Monitor location for accurate balance information. Provide re! porting on activity as needed.
Analyze inventory leve! ls for proper disposition of equipment and work with Area staff to manage the retirement of equipment. Arrange for equipment disposal with approved asset recovery vendors.
Provide routine reporting regarding equipment inventory activity and ad hoc reports, when needed. Assist in implementing process improvements for increased efficiencies and accuracy levels. Provide back up support for inventory team, when needed. Assist on special projects, as needed.
Interact with Operations & Engineering departments on a regular basis to ensure the needs of the company are met. Also interact with peers in the region, South Area and across the country to share ideas, efficiencies and processes.
Qualifications
Travel is required for this position. Travel Percentage is up to 25%.
Associate Degree
2-3 years working experience with purchasing and Inventory modules or other inventory control management software. Experience with CATS or rel! ated Fulcrum product preferred. PeopleSoft experience a plus.
Basic understanding of accounting and fixed assets. Strong attention to detail is required.
Must possess strong analytical skills and interpersonal skills; be well-organized and able to work under time pressure to meet deadlines, daily, weekly and monthly goals. Must be available to work overtime, when needed.
Demonstrated ability to work with others without conflict and achieve goals as well as communicate clearly and effectively. Should be self-motivated and results-oriented. Requires the ability to work with minimal supervision. Strong written communication skills are a must.
Candidate must have a valid drivers license. Candidate should be able to lift approximately 50 lb. unassisted and use basic hand tools. Wireless scanning experience is a plus.
