Oversee and coordinate the planning, organizing, training and leadership necessary to achieve stated objectives in sales, costs, employee retent! ion, customer service, food quality, cleanliness, sanitation, and district satisfaction.
Essential Functions, Duties and Responsibilities, Include without Limitation:
Understand and comply completely with all policies, procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines, directives, assignments and training programs.
Ensure that all students, staff and parents feel welcome and are given responsive, friendly and courteous service at all times.
Ensure that all food and products are consistently prepared and served according to the recipes, portioning, cooking and serving standards of SFE.
Achieve company objectives in sales, service, quality, appearance of facility and sanitation and cleanliness through training of employees and creating a positive, productive working environment.
Control cash and other receipts by adhering to cash handling and reconciliation procedures in accordance with SFE and the districts policies and procedures.
Make employment! and termination decisions.
Fill in where needed to ensure! customer service standards and efficient operations.
Continually strive to develop your staff in all areas of managerial and professional development.
Communicate with district administrators to ensure their expectations are being met.
Prepare and submit all required paperwork, including forms, reports and schedules in an organized and timely manner.
Oversee and ensure that SFE policies on employee performance appraisals are followed and completed on a timely basis.
Southwest Foodservice Excellence, LLC 2 Director of Dining Services Description
Schedule labor as required by using M.P.L.H (Meals Per Labor Hour) while ensuring that all positions are staffed when and as needed and labor cost objectives are met.
Be knowledgeable of and comply with SFE policies regarding personnel and administer prompt, fair and consistent corrective action for any and all violations of company policies, rules and procedures.
Fully understand and comply with all ! applicable federal, state, county and municipal laws, regulations and rules including those that pertain to health, safety and labor requirements in regards to SFE and district employees and customers and operations.
Develop, plan and carry out SFE marketing, and promotional activities.
Conduct yearly satisfaction surveys of district administration and students.
Hold monthly manager meetings for the purpose of ensuring that all schools are getting information they need to best meet the objectives of SFE and the district.
Ensure that the Companyâs operations for which this position is responsible follow sound financial practices, comply with applicable legal requirements, and comport with established practices in all regards.
Exercise sound judgment and discretion with respect to any matter not specifically addressed by the Companyâs policies.
Ultimate responsibility and accountability for all aspects of the activities and operations related to th! e site to which you are assigned and for those duties within the scope ! of this positionâs responsibilities.
Supervision and evaluation of subordinate employees.
Submitting reports as directed and in compliance with deadlines.
Other functions, duties and responsibilities as may be assigned or which are necessary or appropriate to the position.
Required Experience:
Successful completion of all interviews, background investigations and fingerprint clearance requirements (as applicable) prior to employment.
Submission of all employee-related documents and forms free of false, misleading and/or incomplete information prior to employment.
Be able to communicate and understand the predominant language(s) of the districtâs student population.
Sensitivity and respect for people of various backgrounds, cultures, experiences, and socio-economic situations.
Southwest Foodservice Excellence, LLC 3 Director of Dining Services Description
Have knowledge of service and food and beverage, generally involv! ing at least three years of front-of-the-house operations and/or assistant management positions.
Must be able to communicate clearly and professionally with other Managers, Directors, Administrators, students, and parents.
Possess excellent basic math skills and have the ability to operate a cash register or POS system.
Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
Must have the stamina to work 50 to 60 hours per week.
Must have basic knowledge and understanding of the following computer programs: Word, Excel, Publisher, and Outlook.
Prior school foodservice experience desired
Must possess a current and valid drivers license.
Must be insurable under the Companyâs existing insurance policies.
