Amarillo / Lubbock, Texas
Summary:
Responsible for the effective coordination and supervision of all the functions in the Transfusion Service section and the daily operations of the Blood Management Program.
Includes scheduling, training, budgeting that promotes cost containment, and the recognition of analytical results or problems.
Responsible for the maintenance of policies and procedures, quality control monitoring and practices, proficiency testing, and integrative of the Transfusion Service and Blood Management Program into the overall functioning of the department.
Oversight and supervision of section/shift activities will be in accordance with established Hospital, Department, and regulatory policies and procedures.
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Science
Certification / Licensure:
Medical Technologist MT (ASCP)
Experience:
Five years recent experience in health care with at least three years in management/le! adership
Thorough knowledge of transfusion practices ! and related issues
Previous program development/management preferred
