OBJECTIVE/PURPOSE OBJECTIVE / PURPOSE
The Java Developer is responsible for application development for Java based platforms and interfaced applications within Carolina Biological Supply. The ideal candidate will have good communication skills and strong development skills. Job duties include extending the base functionality of the ATG platform, interfacing to other systems, working closely with business users and other technical team members to increase the volume of this sales channel for our business.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND FUNCTIONS
Design and develop exceptional applications for optimal user experience.
Take ownership of the technical solutions for discrete java devel! opment projects.
Suggest innovative solutions to business ! problems/processes that leverage technology to provide differentiation, performance improvements, and better user experiences.
Build and maintain complex data integrations among internal and external systems.
Performs new module implementations, upgrades and application integrations for Java Based platforms
Develop accurate level of effort estimates, and manage task schedules
Understand customer requirements, determine their impact to the success of the business goal and be able to translate them to a technical implementation
Accept ownership of system issues through triage and resolution
Interact well with other technical team leaders such as project managers, developers, architects, testing, and analysts in order to accomplish the business goal
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Education: Four year college degree with computer science, math, business, or engineering specialization. Related work experience will be evaluated in lieu of education. !
Experience:
At least 5 years of software development experience
At least 3 years of Java development
Strong experience with Object Oriented Analysis and Design
Strong understanding of Java programming best practices
Experience with Web Services and SOAP
Basic experience with Financial, Manufacturing and Supply Chain concepts
Experience with the ATG platform, Oracle Database and Java Application servers, and JD Edwards Enterprise One are a plus
Proven track record of development successes that can be readily verified
Proven capabilities and experience in Account Management, Personalization, Scenarios, Commerce, and integration functionality.
Specialized Training/Skills: Java, J2EE, JSP, XML, SOAP, Web Services, AJAX, Object Oriented Design, Oracle Database, Web Logic, .Net, Flash, CSS, ASP
