12. Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, school policy, and administrative regulation.
13. Assists the administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student life and conduct and, for the classroom behavior and procedure, maintaining order in the classroom in a fair and just manner.
14. Makes provision for being available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the instructional day when required or requested to do so under reasonable terms.
15. Plans and supervises purposeful assignments for educational assistant(s) and volunteer(s) and, cooperatively with supervisors, assesses their job per! formance.
16. Strives to maintain and improve professional competence especially as relates to the specific assignment and student grade and subject area appropriateness.
17. Attends staff meetings and serves on staff committees as required.
18. Establishes and maintains cooperative relationships with others.
19. Establishes and maintains open lines of communication with students, colleagues, and parents concerning both the broad academic and behavioral progress of assigned students.
20. Performs such other related tasks and assumes such other related responsibilities as may from time to time be assigned by the School Director as appropriate.

Qualifications:
1. A Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university.
2. Maintains a valid teacher certification which is grade level and subject area appropriate for the particular assignment as required by federal, state or local regulations, laws or regulatory bodies! including the No Child Left Behind Act; which includes current state c! ertification, acceptable scores on mandatory tests or other documentation meeting the requirements set forth by our organization and /or regulatory bodies for this position.
3. Prior experience or formal training in working with “at-risk” students preferred.
4. A proven ability to work in a polite and friendly manner with a variety of constituencies including parents, students, and staff.
5. Ability to effectively educate and manage students from varying backgrounds and socio-economic levels.
6. Experience in effectively handling conflict.
7. Must possess a sense of humor.

The Vitamin/Body Care Assistant is responsible for ensuring that:

Customers are greeted and serviced per company standards of World Class customer service.
Customer complaints are handled appropriately and per company policy.

The departments are inviting and shopable:
displays are shopable;
the departments are clean;
merchandising is inviting;
all products in displays are in-stock on the shelf.
Products customers want to buy are in-stock.
Specia! l orders are handled appropriately and per company policy. He/she answers customer questions per company standards and policies, including the use of Structure/Function statements and/or statements of nutritional support.

Department Profitability:
The Vitamin/Body Care Assistant is responsible for assisting the Vitamin and Body Care Managers in ensuring that:
Inventory levels are maintained within company standards.
Product is ordered from the correct vendor in order to receive the correct discount and maintain margins.

In-stock conditions meet company standards, including:
good selection;
top 100 sellers per department are in stock at all times unless manufacturer outs, including:
store top sellers;
company-wide top sellers.

Product mix is monitored, including:
regular analysis of department to keep top sellers and discontinue extremely slow movers;
new products are brought in per company policy.
Customer returns handled per company standards.!
Mark-downs are managed per company standards.

Management of Department Personnel:
The Vitamin/Body Care Assistant is responsible for assisting the Vitamin and Body Care Managers with the management of department personnel, including the following:
Assisting with the training of department personnel as assigned.
Following up on assigned tasks.
Working with other department managers to share staff to accomplish tasks as needed on a daily basis.

hanging price tag updates daily;

following all inspection guidelines.

deep facing;

checking for short-dated product and what to do if product comes in with a short date;
ensuring that product with the shortest expiration date is in the front, followed by the next date, etc. If two or mo! re rows, product with the shortest expiration date is in the front on all rows followed by the next date, etc;
assisting with the completion of Date Check, Rotation, and Cleaning project of the entire department every six months;
maintaining an Expiration Date Log Book for the department and the acidophilus cooler;
following all inspection guidelines.
Following company policies, procedures and standards for ordering, including:
ordering product from the correct vendor; meeting vendor deadlines and vendor order minimums in order to receive the correct discount and maintain margins;
process replenishment orders in a timely and accurate manner per company policies, to ensure adequate stock levels;
implementing backup order procedures when required;

Following company policies, procedures and standards for cleanliness, including:
maintaining a deep cleaning schedule for the department;
ensuring that! backstock areas are neat organized and cleaned regularly;

Following company policies, procedures and standards for stocking, including:
checking product when it comes in for expiration dates, damages and mis-picks and forwarding this information to the Receiving Manager for handling;
backstock is worked per company policies and standards;
backstock tags are used appropriately and per company policies and standards;
following all inspection guidelines.
Following company policies, procedures and standards for backstock, including:
ensuring that no product is in backstock without being stocked in the front;
backstock is neat, organized and labeled per company standards;
backstock area is cleaned regularly
following all inspection guidelines;
Following company policies, procedures and standards for returns.

MOD (Manager on Duty) Responsibilities:
The Vitamin/Body Care Assistant is required to fulfill the following Manager on Duty (MOD) duties ! as assigned:

Shift MOD:
Responds to cashier needs for manager over-rides.
Ensures that customers are waited on in a timely manner and per company standards of excellence in customer service.
Responds to calls and handles customer complaints as needed and per company policies.
Responds to calls and handles customer returns as needed and per company policies.
Covers cashier lunch breaks.
This position is to never be left as the overall MOD for the store. This position can never be assigned to complete the DSR, store opening and/or closing MOD responsibilities, and cashier drawer counts.

Leadership and Professionalism:
All assistant department managers are expected to be professional at all times and provide appropriate leadership for the staff and the store. Leader effectiveness requires treating people decently while at the same time successfully motivating them toward high performance in their work. One without the! other doesn't work.
Assistant department managers are expected to ! demonstrate positive and calm communication with staff at all times.
Assistant department managers are expected to show the highest level of respect and integrity in their day-to-day actions with employees, customers, vendors and outside contacts.
Assistant department managers are expected to do their job with a consistent, calm, and positive demeanor. It is never appropriate for a department manager to yell, express frustration on the sales floor, or raise their voice to an employee.
Assistant department managers are expected to conduct themselves with the highest level of integrity, responsibility, and excellence. As a representative of the Company to our employees and our professional vendors, leaders are expected to represent Vitamin Cottage as a just, fair, respectful, caring, compassionate, and honorable company.

Store Operations:
1. Work schedule is based on store needs which will include evenings and weekends.
a. The primary purpo! se of this position is to provide additional coverage for the departments, so this position will be scheduled to work opposite shifts of the department managers.
2. Must be full time employee (32-40 hrs/week)
3. Participates in store meetings.
Although this is a general outline of job responsibilities all employees are expected to be “hands on” and do whatever it takes to get the job done and make the company thrive.

Qualifications:
Previous retail experience in a grocery or retail environment; natural foods background a plus.
At least 1 year experience in vitamin, health and beauty, and/or related retail experience.
Must be able to pass a background check.
Possesses a sense of urgency in the completion of tasks.
Possesses excellent customer service skills.
Is highly organized with great attention to detail.
Ability to stay focused with the task at hand.
Ability to take direction and follow through.
Must be! cashier trained.

Physical Requirements:
Must have ! the ability to lift 50 lbs, repetitive lifting up to 30 lbs.
Must be able to carry up to 50 lbs.
Requires the use of both arms and both hands with full range of motion.

  • Continuously monitor the condition of the vehicle to ensure it is operationally ready at all times to minimize down time; clean waste from the packer blade and truck body on each disposal trip.
  • Complete required route/productivity sheets, VCRs a! nd other reports, as required.

  • Male applicants born after December 31, 1959 must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.

This position offers a $3000 recruitment bonus to individuals who are newly appointed as civilians in! the Federal Government. You are considered newly appointed if this is your first appointment as a civilian employee in the Federal Government or if you have a minimum of a 90-day break in service from a previous Federal civilian position. You may qualify with a break in service of less than 90 days only if your previous Federal civilian appointment was a time-limited, or not permanent, appointment. Your recruitment bonus will be made in two payments. You receive the first payment when you enter on duty, and you receive the second payment on your first anniversary. To accept this recruitment bonus, you are required to make a two year service obligation to the Army Reserve Military Technician

Program.

Moving expenses may be authorized, subject to the provisions of the Joint Travel Regulations (JTR) and
an agency determination that a PCS move is in the Governments interest.

New Army Reserve Military Technicians may be authorized moving expenses ! to their first official duty station. To be eligible to receive moving ! expenses, you must be a newly appointed Federal civilian employee or have a minimum of a 3 day break in service from previous Federal civilian employment.

Failure to provide all of the required information as stated in the vacancy announcement may result in an ineligible rating or may affect the overall rating.

This position requires membership in the US Army Reserve (USAR).

HOW YOU WILL BE EVALUATED:
You will be asked a series of questions to determine your eligibility, qualification, and quality ranking for this position. If your responses to the eligibility and qualification questions result in a determination that you are not eligible or not qualified, you will receive no fur! ther consideration. If your responses result in a tentative determination that you are eligible and qualified, your application package (resume, supporting documents, and responses to the questionnaire) will be reviewed to verify that you meet the basic eligibility and qualification requirements.

Basis for Rating : Qualified candidates will be assigned to one of three quality categories: Best Qualified, Highly Qualified and Qualified. Veteran preference eligibles are listed ahead of non-preference eligibles within each quality category.

Interagency Career Transition Assistance Program (ICTAP). The Interagency Career Transition Assistance Plan (ICTAP) provides eligible displaced Federal competitive service employees with selection priority over other candidates for competitive service vacancies. If your agency has notified you in writing that you are a displaced employee eligible for ICTAP consideration, you may receive selection priority if: 1) this! vacancy is within your ICTAP eligibility, 2) you apply under the instr! uctions in this announcement, and 3) you are found well-qualified for this vacancy. Well-qualified is defined as meeting all of the minimum qualification standards and eligibility requirements as well as possessing skills that clearly exceed the minimum qualification requirements for the position. Under competitive delegated examining, an ICTAP eligible will be considered well-qualified if they attain an eligibility rating of 90 or higher, not including points for veterans' preference. You must provide proof of eligibility with your application to receive selection priority. Such proof may include a copy of your written notification of ICTAP eligibility or a copy of your separation personnel action form.
